Flying in today’s day and age is stressful. You don’t know if your flight is going to get delayed or even canceled. It makes getting to your destination questionable.
Airlines are suffering from massive staff shortages. It means that the pilots and other staff don’t have the typical sense of humor that they might usually have. They’re trying to get their job done – and they don’t want any passengers interfering with that.
On one Southwest flight from Houston to Cabo San Lucas, one passenger decided it was time to lighten the mood. Rather than singing or challenging their fellow passengers to some trivia, however, they decided that sending nudes via AirDrop was the best solution.
Apparently, the pilot found out about it. And one person did what you’d expect – they grabbed their phone and started filming. Don’t worry, the video has now been uploaded to TikTok, where you can hear the pilot talking about what he’ll do if the passenger sending the nudes via AirDrop didn’t stop.

The pilot said that if the activity didn’t stop while they were still on the ground, “I’m going to have to pull back to the gate, everybody’s going to have to get off. We’re going to have to get security involved and this vacation is going to be ruined.”
The pilot finished it off with a kind request to “quit sending naked pictures” so that he can get everyone to Cabo.
Fair enough.
Perhaps the passenger should have simply tried another tactic to lighten the mood.
The pilot wasn’t interested in seeing the nudes, and for good reason. It’s a form of cybercrime.
We’ve all heard of weird laws in different states, right? Some have been around longer than others – and some aren’t always taken seriously.
This one is, though. Cyber-flashing, such as what sending nudes would be, is a form of cybercrime. It was banned in Texas last year, and there’s a fine of $500 for anyone found guilty of it.
The person must have figured out that the pilot meant business because the photos stopped being shared and the flight continued on its way to Cabo.
The comments on TikTok have been priceless, as many have compared the pilot’s threat to the days when mom would turn around to scold her kids in the family station wagon. Many joked that the pilot should have said “Don’t make me turn this plane around.”
The Cabo traveler isn’t the first one to send sexually explicit photos on a Southwest flight, either. One passenger in June of this year sent a naughty photo to other passengers – and when the flight landed, he found himself being escorted off by security officers.
Southwest Airlines has received good, bad, and indifferent press lately. This one is a bit fun, but they take it seriously. They recently told the New York Post that “the safety, security and wellbeing of Customers and Employees is the Southwest Team’s highest priority at all times. When made aware of a potential problem, our employees address issues to support the comfort of those traveling with us.”
If you’re going to be traveling by plane anytime in the near future, you might want to keep your nudes to yourself. If you’re looking for a way to snag an extra bag of plane cookies, it might be better to just ask. The pilot doesn’t want to have to turn a plane around simply because you are an exhibitionist.
