Biden’s infrastructure plan has big problems. And everyone knows it, except for the liberals who are trying to slip in every non-infrastructure item they can think of.
Now, the president is looking to change up the plan so that it can get signed off on with greater ease. To make that happen, he’s asking for bipartisan “participation.”
Oh, so that means that the GOP can finally have a say in matters? How nice that he acknowledges that there’s a second party sitting in Congress.
There’s a problem with all of that, though. GOP Representative Susan Collins has already identified it, too. There are “fundamental differences” between the two political sides when it comes to infrastructure.

Essentially, Biden is stomping his foot and throwing a hissy fit because he wants to see the infrastructure bill passed immediately. He doesn’t like that the GOP is actually reading the bill and pointing out components that don’t belong.
He’s called for bipartisan “participation,” which basically means that he wants the negotiations to be meaningful. However, what he really wants is for the GOP to cave so that everyone can move on.
The price tag has dropped from $2.2 trillion down to $1.7 trillion.
That’s not good enough. It’s not just about the money. It’s also about what “infrastructure” really is.
The liberals don’t want to keep it simple and focus on roads and bridges.
Now, they want to “future proof” America to ensure that we have fiber and Wi-Fi everywhere. While these are lofty goals, they’re also taking it even further…
They want Americans to be able to opt out of channels they don’t like. After all, no one should be forced to pay for a channel they find objectionable. We certainly wouldn’t want someone to be offended by a channel in their already discounted bundle that they could easily just scan over.
There’s also the PRO Act that has no business being in the infrastructure plan. It would give unions too much power…oh, and it has nothing to do with infrastructure.
Let’s also not forget that the ABC Test should be removed – a way for the government to determine whether a person is an employee or an independent contractor. This, too, has nothing to do with infrastructure and could have a negative impact on free-market labor.
Senator Shelly Moore Capito, a Republican out of West Virginia, explains that it’s hard to enjoy bipartisan participation when there’s such a divide when the Biden administration doesn’t want to cooperate. She comments, “based on today’s meeting, the groups seem further apart after two meetings with White House staff than they were after one meeting with President Biden.”
Yikes, that sounds as though the Biden confusion train has crashed at the station again.
There isn’t going to be bipartisan support. The Biden administration changed the definition of infrastructure to include anything they deem necessary to “improve” the country. There’s also the magnitude of the spending proposal as well as how it’s going to be paid for.
No. The Republicans cannot and will not support a multi-trillion-dollar deal that doesn’t focus solely on infrastructure. And the Biden administration can talk until they’re blue in the face but it won’t change anything.
If bipartisan support isn’t reached, there’s always the possibility that the Democratic Congress will simply push it through anyway. However, that won’t look good for the Biden administration. The American public has already voiced concern over how the Democrats are spending more and more – and how it’s only a matter of time before taxes and inflation skyrocket to pay for it all.
It’s all theatrics. Biden says that he wants to see bipartisan support because it makes him look better. He can forget it because it won’t happen. If he wants to spend this much money and make this epic mistake for our economy, he’ll have to do it with the help of his socialist buddies. The GOP is staying out of this one.
