Every now and then, the White House needs to get fact-checked. And that’s what recently happened when Biden’s White House decided to brag on the sitting president about Social Security. Twitter slapped a label on the tweet – and the truth had to be revealed so that Democrats didn’t buy the line.
On November 1, the White House tweeted, “Seniors are getting the biggest increase in their Social Security checks in 10 years through President Biden’s leadership.”
At first glance, that seems accurate. The increase happening is the biggest that it’s been in 10 years. The bump is nearly two digits thanks to a cost of living adjustment. And Biden is the president when it’s happening.
But that’s not the WHOLE truth.

Twitter decided it was necessary to add some context, providing the real truth. Americans will be receiving the benefit “due to the annual cost of living adjustment, which is based on the inflation rate.”
Who created inflation? Joe Biden.
Who made it possible for Social Security benefits to increase as a result of the cost of living adjustments? Richard Nixon.
If the White House wants to give someone credit for the increase to Social Security checks, they are giving it to the wrong president.
Former Republican President Richard Nixon made it possible in 1972. He signed into law an automatic benefit adjustment that is tied to the Consumer Price Index. That means that cost of living adjustments is going to happen automatically.
Biden did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to ensure that Social Security checks saw an increase.
Yet, Biden wants to out and out lie to the American people and take credit for something that he didn’t do. When he stopped in Florida a week or so ago to denounce Republicans’ economic intentions, he said, “And on my watch, for the first time in 10 years, seniors are getting an increase in their Social Security checks. So, checks are going to be up and Medicare payments are going to be down.”
Not so fast, Joe.
People need those increases because everything is more expensive than it was two years ago. Groceries are up, gas is up, and even utilities are up. If inflation wasn’t at such a high, there would be no need to increase the Social Security checks.
Biden makes it sound as though he’s giving people more spending money. That’s not the case at all. This bump simply makes it possible for seniors to buy the necessities due to the higher inflation.
The old man also claims that Medicare payments are going down – yet that’s not true, either. In fact, many seniors are worried that Medicare payments will be going up due to higher prices all over the country.
How is it that Biden and the entire White House is allowed to lie to the American people? It’s not acceptable – and thank goodness that Twitter was able to provide a much-needed fact check on the tweet sent out from the White House.
And the Democrats have the audacity to say that Trump was a liar? Most of what Trump said ended up being true. The same cannot be said about what comes out of Joe Biden’s mouth.
Representative Thomas Massie (R-KY) even tweeted about how “social media geniuses” are trying to give Biden credit for the COLA. Every time they fail to mention the automatic formula that is based on government inflation, established by Nixon, they are lying to the American people.
We really need to stop hearing about these lies. Nixon is probably rolling in his grave right now.
