If you were hoping that the ongoing banter between Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy and White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre would continue in the new year, you can rest assured that this odd couple is still at it.
As hard as Jean-Pierre tries to avoid Peter Doocy, she can’t seem to sidestep his penetrative questions that stump her and force some word salads.
Peter Doocy just recently asked the White House Press Secretary point blank if President Joe Biden had involvement in his “family business schemes.”
You could feel the tension rise in the briefing room.
This question came because the Republican-led House Oversight Committee said there is evidence that the president lied to the American people about his level of involvement in his family’s business dealings overseas. Now that the GOP has the majority in the House, it has promised to investigate the president’s son, Hunter Biden, because he deals with a Ukrainian energy company called Burisma. They are also looking at a Chinese energy company, CEFC China Energy, that Biden’s dealt with.

Doocy asked Jean-Pierre, “With the new Republican majority coming in, the House Oversight Committee is laying out their new investigations, and they claim it had evidence that Joe Biden lied to the American people about his involvement in his family’s business schemes. Did he?”
Jean Pierre replied that she has answered this before, and then shifted to saying that House Republicans promised that fighting inflation would be their number one priority during the midterm elections.
Then she said instead the GOP is wanting to start an investigation on the president and his family.
“They don’t want to focus on the American people and their family, they want to focus on political division. They want to focus on something that the American people do not want to see, as we saw from the midterm elections,” Jean-Pierre replied.
